My Bookshelf: The Space Between Us

I realized I've been watching TV just to watch TV.  If I feel the need to peruse pintrest or Instagram, I'm probably not that into it. So, one of my goals this year, is to replace some of my mindless TV watching with reading.

First book of the year:  The Space Between Us by Thrity Umigar

I liked the feeling of this book far more than I actually liked the story or writing ( I actually really did not like her writing style).  I did love the way it made me question how I develop relationships.  The book left me wanting to truly get to know people, even if it means they will get to know me. I also feel more motivated to listen to people.

Easy read, a little cheesy, but good.

Also, I still watch a lot of TV.  We've been watching Sherlock and I am a little obsessed.

Bagua Map: 2014

Every Year I like to create a Feng Shui Bagua Map of my goals.  I didn't follow the colors of the Bagua, and I rearranged a few things.  So- I guess it's really not a true Bagua Map, but it is an interesting way for me to think about and organize my goals visually.

I got the idea from some blogs that I really love:
Rachel Eastin ( I love the way she lives life. I also used her photo in the upper left corner of my map).
Jane Reaction (She is an awesome graphic designer.)

I've been working on this for a few weeks.  I have so many things I'd like to work on and improve, so it was hard to edit my list.  This year, I decided to add words.  For me, it helps to stay focused on my intention.

I used this template (and switched some things around): HERE

The Bagau categories arranged to my liking: (From top to left- moving to the right):
1.  Love and Relationships
2. Illumination and Reputation
3. Health & Well-Being
4. Foundation & Family
5. Abundance & Wealth
6.Creativity & Children
7.Inner Knowledge
8. Career & Life's Journey
9. Helpful People & Travel

Some of my goals are only loosely based on the Bagua categories listed above.  You can try and guess the connection between my goal and the category.  lol
If you make one, please send me a link! I love to see my friends making these.  It's so inspiring.

Youtube Yoga

I created a (pre-new-years) resolution awhile back, to do at least 10 min. of Yoga every morning.

I love it.  Especially when I got really sick- I found some routines that help with colds and it really did relieve my congestion (even if it was only for an hour or so).  I like doing yoga in the morning, because it really helps me focus on what I'd like to contribute to the day, and what I'd like to accomplish.  I will defiantly extend my AM Yoga practice into the new year!

I do prefer taking Yoga in a class with an instructor that can correct my form- and shame me into doing the full hour practice).  Classes get a little expensive, so I am glad Youtube has a great selection of free routines.

Here are my favorite Youtube Yoga channels:

Ali Kamenova- Interval Yoga

Esther Ekhart Yoga (Yogatic)

Yoga with Adrian

If you have a favorite Yoga video, please send it my way!

In progress

I'm working on a series of watercolors of places I would like to visit.

The Babes with the Power

Photos from the birth my Magnolia and Wendy.

Natalli let me come to the birth of her twins.  It was awesome- I got to play hooky from work and everything.  These babies are something else, and my sister is champ.  I can't believe she juggles these babies AND a 1.5 year old.
